Pianist Mei An

Mei An delivers a strong sense of confidence in her music through her dynamic personality and expressive artistry. Her musical journey began with formal training at the Preparatory Division of the Peabody Institute. She later earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the prestigious Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, distinguishing herself as an accomplished performer and competitor.
During her time at the Conservatory, Ms. An participated in numerous competitions and was a sought-after performer at prominent events. In 2012, she made her orchestral debut with the Peabody Orchestra after winning the Annual Piano Concerto Competition, marking a significant milestone in her career.
Since her debut, Ms. An has appeared as both a soloist and chamber musician on renowned stages including Carnegie Hall, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Katzen Arts Center at American University, the Shapiro Music Room at Strathmore, Steinway Boutique Hall in Beijing, the Horowitz Center, and Friedberg Hall in Baltimore, among others.
In addition to her performance career, Ms. An is also a music therapist based in Northern Virginia. She pursued professional studies in music therapy at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, equipping herself to use music as a powerful tool for healing and growth. Through her work, she supports children and adults with diverse needs, fostering positive change and personal development through meaningful musical engagement.
Today, Ms. An performs actively throughout the DMV (Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia) area, while also curating her own musical events and cultural experiences in Chantilly, Virginia.
