A little about Mei An.

Meet Mei An.

Mei An is a classically trained pianist based in Northern Virginia, performing throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Known for her expressive artistry and engaging presence, she brings both musical depth and a personal touch to the stage.

Her musical journey began at the Preparatory Division of the Peabody Institute. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Piano Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. As a soloist and chamber musician, she has performed at Carnegie Hall, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Katzen Arts Center at American University, the Shapiro Music Room at Strathmore, Steinway Boutique Hall in Beijing, and other distinguished venues.

Her work moves between classical music, familiar songs, and film scores, with each performance shaped by the people and the occasion. At weddings and private events, she creates personalized music for ceremonies and celebrations, weaving together requests, spontaneous improvisation, and thoughtful transitions to soundtrack moments that matter.

Mei An also pursued graduate studies in music therapy at Shenandoah University and has worked with children and adults with diverse needs. This background continues to inform her belief in music’s ability to create connection and make people feel seen.

She is the founder of WONDER, a series of immersive experiences in Chantilly, Virginia, built around live piano, film screenings, hands-on crafts, and shared moments. Through WONDER, she invites guests to step into a story, explore their creativity, and carry a little wonder with them long after the last note.
